Dr. Isabella Peters is professor of Web Science at ZBW Leibniz-Information Center for Economics and Kiel University, Germany. The joint affiliation enables research closely related to applied areas of Library and Information Science as well as basic research in Web Science. Isabella’s research group is located at the Department for Computer Science (Business Information Systems) at Kiel University. Together with her team she studies user-generated content and social media in scholarly communication and other use cases, altmetrics, data citations, and open access, as well as other open science practices.
She holds a PhD in information science from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany, and has studied German linguistics, German literature, and information science. Isabella was a visiting scholar at the Canada Research Chair on the Transformations of Scholarly Communication, Université de Montréal, and at Indiana University, Bloomington.
